Assignment-design Charrette

We invite Manoa faculty interested in improving Spr16 assignments that are designed to help ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ with written communication, critical thinking, or quantitative reasoning to attend this workshop.

The facilitators will introduce assignment design principles and attendees will participate in an assignment charrette: a collaborative, positive process where you give and receive feedback on your assignment within a concentrated time frame. After lunch (provided), the facilitators will introduce an excellent resource- -an online assignment library- -and discuss rubric design.

Workshop facilitators: Natasha Jankowski [University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and National Institute for Learning Outcomes (NILOA)] and David Marshall [CSU San Bernardino and Institute for Evidence-Based Change (IEBC)].

What to bring: 5 copies of an assignment you would like to share and improve.
