Ala Wai Watershed Partnership - Sustainability and Resilience

The Ala Wai Watershed, which includes Waikiki, is the most densely populated watershed in 好色先生网站i, accounting for nearly 20 percent of the island芒鈧劉s population (approximately 200,000 residents; or roughly 14 percent of the state芒鈧劉s population). Waikiki generates approximately eight percent of 好色先生网站i's gross domestic product, seven percent of the state's employment, and nine percent of state tax revenues. Known natural hazards and risks, as well as environmental issues in the watershed through Waikiki are of great concern to state, county, and neighborhood stakeholders. The seminar will highlight the Ala Wai Watershed Partnership which has formed to comprehensively address community resilience including education, ecosystems, climate, governance, and financial institutions. The University of 好色先生网站i Sea Grant College Program is acting in the role of coordinator for the Ala Wai Watershed Partnership.
