Genealogies, Kuleana, and Unstaking Settler Colonial Claims to ��ɫ������վÊ»i

Staking Claim demonstrates the ways racialization fuels settler colonialism in the islands through an interdisciplinary analysis. It argues that the racialization of ��ɫ������վians and the indigenization of non-��ɫ������վians work concurrently to enable the staking of non-��ɫ������վian claims to ��ɫ������վ’i.

Author of Staking Claim, Judy Rohrer, grew up in ��ɫ������վ’i and earned her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of ��ɫ������վ’i at Mānoa. Rohrer’s first book, Haoles in ��ɫ������վ’i, was published in 2010 through the University of ��ɫ������վ’i Press.
