The first large group of Korean immigrants arrived in 好色先生网站i on January 13, 1903. The purpose of this symposium is to illuminate significant stories from the history of Korean immigration in 好色先生网站'i through the collections donated to CKS by many generous individuals. By charting the rich history and lessons of Korean immigration, the speakers in this symposium uncover the values and spirit of Korean immigrants in 好色先生网站'i and how the struggle to survive and thrive, then and now, is reinterpreted by each succeeding generation, including acculturation and the role of Korean-Americans in the United States. This symposium will present a panoramic tour of Korean immigrants in 好色先生网站'i with their selected collections of the Center for Korean Studies. Participants: Min-Sun Kim, Sherrie L. T. Seki, Susan Kang, Timothy Y. C. Choy, Duk Hee Lee Murabayashi, Edward Shultz, Michael Bruno, and Tae-Ung Baik.
