Kaua'i Community College faculty, staff, and ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ will share stories (mo'olelo) of Kawelo, ali'i of Kaua'i through ka'ao, ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾'i’s traditional myth culture used as a framework to transform the student experience and the culture of academia and present songs-mele of Kaua'i and Ni'ihau. Mo‘olelo O Kawelo 'Elua (Part 2): Kawelo returns to Kaua‘i because the current ali‘i, ‘Aikanaka, is mistreating his ‘ohana-lupe. His many battles lead to him conquer Kaua‘i. The stories will be told through the ka'ao framework of Huaka‘i (journey and experience) and Ho‘i (return back to the community and contribution). The presenters will share a community collaboration project, Malama Hule'ia.
