SCEP Live Online Story Share

The Statewide Cultural Extension Program (SCEP), a program of ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ Manoa Outreach College, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Join us on Friday, April 23 at 7:00pm as we present a new project: SCEP Live Online Story Share. Register at for the direct link to the performance.

Members of the University of ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøվ‘i community responded to our call for stories about the University of ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøվ‘i at Manoa. The following individuals will share their stories live from the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ Manoa Orvis Auditorium on the SCEP Live Online YouTube channel:

  • Dave Del Rocco – ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ Manoa ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾uate in ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ian languages, former HSPLS librarian, and currently a ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ian Culture and Social Studies teacher at Punahou School

  • Michael Jones, retired Associate Researcher and professor, ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ Manoa Department of Physics and Astronomy

  • Emma McGuire, former ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ Manoa ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ian language teacher; currently, ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ian language faculty at Punahou School

  • Neal Milner, retired Political Sciences professor and former ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ Manoa Ombudsman

  • Sri Tencate, ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ alumna and retired HSPLS librarian and Branch Manager, Molokai Public Library

Storyteller and former Windward Community College theatre professor Ben Moffat serves as the evening’s master of ceremonies.

The Story Share Band adds a musical component to the evening with musicians Bailey Matsuda, Alex Morrison, and Chris Yeh.

SCEP Live Online Story Share is now seeking stories from individuals in the community. We welcome story proposals from the community based on a memory of life in ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøվ‘i.

Entry Deadline: April 30, 2021

°Õ´ÇÌý±è²¹°ù³Ù¾±³¦¾±±è²¹³Ù±ð:

  1. All stories must be true and based on your own memory.
  2. You should be able to tell your story in a maximum of 10 minutes.

SCEP Live Online is a joint effort between ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ Manoa Outreach College, East-West Center Arts Program, ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúÍøÕ¾ Manoa Music Department, Kaunoa Senior Services, and Friends of Manoa Library.
