ORE Seminar: Marine Robotics in the Fast Lane
September 26, 1:00pm - 2:00pmMānoa Campus, Holmes Hall 243
From remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to unmanned surface vessels (USVs) and custom designs for everything in-between, the Blue Robotics ecosystem provides a flexible foundation for rapid marine robotics development. With a broad catalog of subsea enclosures, the BlueOS / ArduPilot software stack, and well documented integration pathways, engineers can reduce prototyping time and focus on mission-specific innovation - not fighting to make something not leak! This talk highlights recent advancements in the Blue Robotics ecosystem and shares two case studies: the design and field testing of a custom profiling AUV, and the deployment of a subsea camera module at Blue Ocean Mariculture. Together, these examples illustrate how off-the-shelf building blocks can accelerate the journey from concept to real-world operation.
