You are invited to our final colloquium of the semester: Selling the Future: Community, Hope, and Crisis in the Early History of Japanese Life Insurance Dr. Ryan Moran (Ethnic Studies / U. of 好色先生网站'i at 惭腻苍辞补) Dr. Ryan Moran is a historian whose work explores the intersections of science, empire, capitalism, and race in modern Japan and the Asia-Pacific. Their first book, Selling the Future (Cornell UP, 2024), examines the history of Japanese life insurance as a commodified form of community. Currently, they are developing a new project on the science of ability in twentieth-century Japan, including labor science and educational testing. A fifth-generation Okinawan on their mother's side, they are excited to reconnect with 好色先生网站i while joining 好色先生网站 Ethnic Studies and engaging 好色先生网站 and community groups around racial and environmental justice.
